MashBeauty: Bold Lips

I am more of a lipgloss girl myself, with the occasional foray into lipstick (worn in the house, in front of my bathroom mirror), but the ladies at the premiere for Think Like a Man (which was number 1 at the box office this weekend with more than $30 million) make me want to take this trend outside.

The ladies from stars of the film Taraji P. Henson and Regina Hall, to red carpet guests like Jennifer Hudson, rocked bold, colorful looks that really popped.  The key to this look? Keeping the rest of the palette neutral.

Favorite Hues

Anyone who knows me knows that I looove painting my nails, it's kind of therapeutic, I catch up on Vampire Diaries and the Secret Circle on my DVR and paint away.

The colors from left to right are: Revlon Demure and Orly Mirror Mirror , Coquette Cutie , Blue Collar and Frisky.  I am typically an OPI girl, however Orly seems to go on great with one coat (though I do double up). What are some of your favorite colors? Let me know below. 

Obsessed with Siren

Ever since I found out that the orange lips at the Ohne Titel Spring 2011 show was Revlon's Super Lustrous in Siren, I have been on the hunt for that shade and I found it today! After roaming the aisles at two Targets, Wal-Mart and Wal-Greens (seriously CVS and Ulta were next on my list) I found the shade restocked at my home Target. The color isn't as bright on as it appears in the tube, but the coral-inspired hue is perfect for a variety of skin-tones. The shade is definitely worth a try, for those of you experiencing the winter blues, it will most certainly brighten up your day :). Another note, apparently Gucci Westman, Revlon's global artistic director, added a little bit of orange powder on top of the lipstick to give it a sporty finish.

Get a Fierce Flush

Ok, that's it I am totally in love with Tarte cheek stains!! They are easy to use and work on a variety of skin tones (I should know I tried one stain on each of my sisters). Right now I am totally in love with fierce a little tube featured in the tres cheek a cute little set that features three different colors.




The company also has a set of great lip glosses, while at Sephora this weekend I was disappointed to find that they didn't carry a foundation in my color (I'm a 5 in Clinique loose powder). Their eye, lip and cheek products are worth giving a look.
