That Rihanna

Rihanna covers the August issue of Harper's Bazaar in a photoshoot with Camilla Akrans. First, I'm glad that Harper's went with someone other than the creepiness that is Terry Richardson. Anyway, love these shots.

Controversy

Not holiday related, but these photos by Solve Sundsbo for numero magazine are so awesome I had to share! Apparently the fashionista noticed the similarities between this and a few images from Rihanna's new video for You Da One.  While the images are very similar, I am going to give Ri Ri and her team  a pass, who hasn't seen something amazing and wanted to put their own spin on it? Imitation is the best form of flattery, right?

**here's the video: I could deal without all of the crotch grabbing , but the song is one of my favorites on the Talk That Talk album.

Mary Kate and Ashley

I am always inspired by Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, not only do I have a lot of respect for their work ethic,  after reading this article about them in Vogue's Power issue (can be found here online), it makes me want to think bigger.  They are wise well beyond their years and you can tell that they really love what they do, which makes me want to jump head first into really focusing on those things that bring me joy (acting, writing) I have dreams of running my own television show...

“The thing about us,” Mary-Kate says, “is we think big. Huge."

Rihanna for Vogue

So, yeah, eventually I may have to change this blog's name to the Rihanna Diaries (catchy right), but until then, check out these photos of her in April's Vogue shot by Annie Leibovitz.

Random Olsen Pics

I was going through my pictures and stumbled across these photos of Mary Kate that I didn't post. I believe they are from the Marie Claire September issue. The first is one of my favorite. Enjoy!

Kerry Washington

Kerry Washington is one of my favorite actresses, ever since she played the sister in Save the Last Dance, she's been on my radar, she takes on versatile roles (i.e. Ray and The Last King of Scotland) and is just plain cool. Anyway, here she is in a photo she did for LA Times Magazine, the hair is...interesting but the dress rocks!

In Navy

The gorgeous Chanel Iman covers the November issue of Ocean Drive magazine wearing Marchesa. Chanel is one of my favorite models, because she always looks like she's having fun. She also seems very down to earth and gives back to the community through various organizations, including The HerShe Group, a non-profit group that caters to girls in foster care.

Coco on the Move

Model Coco Rocha is one of my favorites, not only is she gorgeous, but she has a ton of personality. This October she graces the cover of Elle UK's 25th Anniversary mag,  in a They Shoot Horses, Don't They? inspired shoot. The movie stars Jane Fonda and is about a 1930's dance marathon. According to Coco, the dancing was real and the shoot was hot, but the shots they got are beautiful. Enjoy!

Jessica Szhor

One of my favorite actresses from Gossip Girl, Jessica Szohr, is on the cover of Nylon Magazine  for it's TV issue. Inside she discusses her love of children (she's the oldest of five) and how she was handpicked for Gossip Girl by executive producer Josh Schwartz. If you haven't picked it up already you should, there are great articles on the Fall TV line up, including interviews with Aubrey Plaza and Chris Pratt of Parks and Recreation and Sarah Ramos of Parenthood. The new fall season starts next week with the premiere of Hell Cats, a show which I am excited about and Nikita, a remake. I will be sure to have full reviews and a few looks put together then. Enjoy!

Mad About Mad Men

The cast of Mad Men is on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. Not only is it one of the best shows on television, it's one of the more stylish (Betty Draper's day dresses alone are fab).

Jon Hamm on set.

Hollywood Glamour

The lovely Halle Berry graces the cover of Vogue's September issue. She looks fabulous even if she's just out and about running errands, but her hair styled here really invokes old Hollywood glamour. I love every shot!

In September's Harper's Bazaar  Rachel Zoe is featured in a photo spread with Marc Jacobs, Vera Wang and Calvin Klein designer Francisco Costa. Be sure to check out The Rachel Zoe Project 10 p.m. Tuesday's on Bravo. Stay Beautiful!

On the Cat Walk

I've always admired Christy Turlington not only is she smart and beautiful, but she has spent the last few years fighting on the behalf of pregnant women in underdeveloped countries. Thanks to Le Fashion blog for posting the link to 1993 documentary that she was featured in Cat Walk. This is the first part (the other nine are available here), it was also cool to see a younger Kate Moss (she seems somewhat naive), Naomi Campbell and even Carla Bruni (pre-plastic surgery and marriage to the president of France). My favorite part, the John Galliano show where the models we're instructed to run down the runway like they were being chased. Also look out for vintage Karl Lagerfeld. Enjoy!

Gaga Meets Godiva

Lady Gaga covers the September Issue of  Vanity Fair and she looks magnificent in this Lady Godiva inspired shoot. She opted for a very toned down look (do you remember this Rolling Stone's cover?) and went nude with very well placed hair extensions. It's definitely Lady Godiva for the 21st Century and I love it! My favorite part (aside from the choker?)  the nails, which appear to be a  smoky grey that's a little lighter than my favorite OPI shade, You Don't Know Jacques. I am now on the hunt for this shade. If you guys know of anything similar drop me a line :).

Just Lovely

How cool is this Phillip Treacy blue beano with stones?

Ok, so we all know how much I love Mad Men (did you catch the Season premiere?) Here is Christina Hendricks, who plays Joan on Mad Men, who did an interview with  LA Times. There she discusses her love of the accordian, why she dyes her hair red and how it feels to be a curvy girl in the world of twos and zeros.  The pictures are fab, so I just had to share.
