Rosie the Riveter

Recently, the Library of Congress uploaded a ton of photos that were taken during the great depression and beginning of World War II.  What makes these photos special is the fact that they were taken in color in an era where many of the photos are in black and white, so you get a view of the era that isn't widely published.  I won't go into a long history about women and work during WWII, but two of the photos that stood out to me the most were of women working in factories.  The best part, even though they were building machinery and working with wiring, their hair, makeup and nails we're done.  A bold red lip?  Never out of style.

I'm Melting, I'm Melting

No,  I'm not the wicked witch, but it was hot as I don't know what today. Anyway, I got in on the peplum trend with this little number, it makes me feel instantly chic.

Lenny, Lenny

After reading this post about why some girls love guys with tattoos and piercings, I began to think about  Lenny Kravitz, one of my favorite rockers, who also happens to act (he was awesome in Hunger Games) and in his spare time designs interiors (renaissance man, no?). While I spotlighted his daughter Zoe's style a while back, I never gave a full post to the star whose clothes she sometimes steals.  His staples are jeans, t-shirts with a leather jacket and scarf thrown in for good measure.  From the stage to the sidewalk, Lenny's style is always golden.

That Rihanna

Rihanna covers the August issue of Harper's Bazaar in a photoshoot with Camilla Akrans. First, I'm glad that Harper's went with someone other than the creepiness that is Terry Richardson. Anyway, love these shots.

Balmain

My favorite looks from the Balmain Resort 2013 collection. Perfectly tailored slouchy trousers, double breasted jackets, bright colors and bold patterns.  Basically perfect for a modern day Katherine Hepburn

Diane and Joshua

My favorite style couple has to be Diane Kruger and Joshua Jackson.  They don't go the route that most celebrities go on the red carpet of matchy-matchy we're really in love so we wear the same colors.  Diane and Joshua are too cool for that, instead Diane opts for high-fashion pieces often paired with a flat or sleek shoe, while Josh goes for classic-tailored pieces while still pulling off flip-flops (see photo 2).  Overall, they always hit the carpet or the sidewalk in style.  Who's your favorite style couple? Let me know in the comments below.  ♥♥♥ Marissa
