DC Chillin'

cherry blossom trees at the national mall
Had a lot of fun in D.C. (then Philadelphia) this weekend. The best part, hanging with Emily who just moved there this past summer, we've been friends since the 10th grade! She's one of those friends who I don't see everyday, but when we do hang out, it's like no time has passed by at all. Anyway, we went down to the National Mall for the Cherry Blossom Festival and saw some cool Japanese art at the Smithsonian, then we headed to China Town, where we ate some really good food at Busboys and Poets (must stop by there if you are in the area, did I mention that the food is good?!). Unfortunately, I was so busy being amazed at how good the food was, I didn't think to take pictures of my food until it was all gone. All in all, had a great time in D.C., promise to take better pics next time :)

Mary Kate and Ashley

I am always inspired by Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, not only do I have a lot of respect for their work ethic,  after reading this article about them in Vogue's Power issue (can be found here online), it makes me want to think bigger.  They are wise well beyond their years and you can tell that they really love what they do, which makes me want to jump head first into really focusing on those things that bring me joy (acting, writing) I have dreams of running my own television show...

“The thing about us,” Mary-Kate says, “is we think big. Huge."

Rihanna for Vogue

So, yeah, eventually I may have to change this blog's name to the Rihanna Diaries (catchy right), but until then, check out these photos of her in April's Vogue shot by Annie Leibovitz.

Obsessed with Siren

back stage at ohne titel

Ever since I found out that the orange lips at the Ohne Titel Spring 2011 show was Revlon's Super Lustrous in Siren, I have been on the hunt for that shade and I found it today! After roaming the aisles at two Targets, Wal-Mart and Wal-Greens (seriously CVS and Ulta were next on my list) I found the shade restocked at my home Target. The color isn't as bright on as it appears in the tube, but the coral-inspired hue is perfect for a variety of skin-tones. The shade is definitely worth a try, for those of you experiencing the winter blues, it will most certainly brighten up your day :). Another note, apparently Gucci Westman, Revlon's global artistic director, added a little bit of orange powder on top of the lipstick to give it a sporty finish.

Give me the Light

via

I am a little obsessed with the idea of having a chandelier hanging in my walk-in-closet. The main problem, the lack of a walk-in, I do however have a hankering to replace the ceiling fan in my room with a cool chandelier....the only problem is that while the lighting would be nice, it wouldn't help me in the summer when I like to run both the fan and a/c (did I mention that it gets hot in Miami?) So for now, I will just look at pretty photos of some cool looking interiors.

How cool is this greenhouse? The chandeliers add a classic touch.
