Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

BFF's and two of my favorite style stars Rihanna and Katy Perry hung out in Vegas this weekend for Katy's bachelorette party. They both looked great, Rihanna in a curve hugging white dress with nude heels and Katy in a mini dress with those Prada lucite heels, which I have been on the fence about, but Katy manages to pull off these Jimmy Choo platform sandals. Enjoy!

All About Rachel

I am definitely in love with Rachel Roy's jewelry line so it's no surprise that I loved her presentation for S111. Chock-full of color, like she is known for the Rachel Roy girl definitely appears to be influenced by a mix of 70's and 80's glam girl (I have a picture of my grandma from the 70's in s dkirt very similar to the full-length one below).

The Classics

Saw this over at thesartorialist and couldn't help but post. There's something very 70's yet modern about the look, maybe it's the oversized clutch? Either way, I like.

Pretty Reckless

When I heard that Taylor Momsen was the front woman for a rock band I was pretty skeptical. Little Jenny Humphrey from Brooklyn fronting a rock band? Then I heard a song in the movie Kick Ass and just had to find out who it was by (have you seen that movie? it's amazing). Anyway, I found out it was The Pretty Reckless which is fronted by Momsen. Their EP is out now and even though it's only three songs it had me wanting more. Can't wait to hear more from them. Here's their video for "Make Me Wanna Die".

While I prefer to hear Momsen sing, rather than give an interview, she drops lots of f-bombs and picks on Miley Cyrus (even though Momsen was up for the role of Hannah) in what seems to be an effort to appear tough, I'm rooting for this band none the less.

MashTV Style: Hellcats

I'm a little excited that the fall television season has started up again. One new show that I am interested to see is the CW's Hellcats, I posted a little preview about it  here and today I composed a little show-inspired look. The two main characters are Savannah Monroe (love that name, played by Ashley T.) the captain of the cheerleader squad and Marti Perkins (played by Aly M.) a kind of rebel who joins the squad to stay in school.

Savannah's style seems to be a little more girly/happy  so I chose this ModCloth, dress with cute ballet flats and an Asos clutch.

Marti's style is a little more rebel with a care, so I composed a look of featuring this American Eagle Anorak, which I like

Lovely in Venice

Michelle Williams looked gorgeous in this Jason Wu Resort 2011 gown at the Venice Film Festival. When I saw this I had to post...the one thing I would change is the black clutch...something that blended in would've been perfect.

Coco on the Move

Model Coco Rocha is one of my favorites, not only is she gorgeous, but she has a ton of personality. This October she graces the cover of Elle UK's 25th Anniversary mag,  in a They Shoot Horses, Don't They? inspired shoot. The movie stars Jane Fonda and is about a 1930's dance marathon. According to Coco, the dancing was real and the shoot was hot, but the shots they got are beautiful. Enjoy!

Jessica Szhor

One of my favorite actresses from Gossip Girl, Jessica Szohr, is on the cover of Nylon Magazine  for it's TV issue. Inside she discusses her love of children (she's the oldest of five) and how she was handpicked for Gossip Girl by executive producer Josh Schwartz. If you haven't picked it up already you should, there are great articles on the Fall TV line up, including interviews with Aubrey Plaza and Chris Pratt of Parks and Recreation and Sarah Ramos of Parenthood. The new fall season starts next week with the premiere of Hell Cats, a show which I am excited about and Nikita, a remake. I will be sure to have full reviews and a few looks put together then. Enjoy!

A Little Teaser

Word on the street that the latest design collab at H & M is none other than Alber Elbaz of Lanvin. It's a collab that I am excited to see and then a little sad about, since the nearest H & M is four hours away in Orlando (tear). H &M really needs to get on the ball and open up a store here in Miami, but until then, I can dream of all the lovely things that the next designer is sure to bring.

Update: It is Elbaz, a video with him talking about the collab after the jump.
