In my house it was gospel, Bob Marley, Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston.  I wasn't sure what I would post about the passing of Whitney Houston, words can not express how much I admired her and looked up to her as a child.  As an 80's baby, there really weren't that many  images of young Black women on the screen outside of the Cosby Show (and Holly Robinson Peete of 21 Jump Street) on the scene who simply commanded everyone's attention just by opening her mouth and belting out a tune.

Photos of a few new shoes (and an old favorite pair), that I picked up from Nine West on sale.  The clutch is KDNY and the necklace is by Lauren by Ralph Lauren. All photos by my Mom.

On a side note, did anyone catch Madonna at the Superbowl Halftime? I thought she did an amazing job, loved the Cleopatra-esque opening and the Like a Prayer ending, was also glad to see LMFAO and MIA on the scene. 

Wearing Today

One of my favorite style stars Solange Knowles (how awesome is her hair?)is featured this month in British Vogue's photo diary.  On display are her love of bright prints, statement shoes and of course a clutch for day.  Past features have included shoe designer Charlotte Dellal and model Lily Aldridge can't wait to see what Solange has planned for the rest of the month.
